Dr. John-Paul Clarke Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics – University of Texas at Austin, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Universal Hydrogen
Dr. Clarke as a Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin, holds the Ernest Cockrell Jr Memorial Chair in Engineering. Under his leadership at Universal Hydrogen, a company dedicated to the decarbonization of aviation he is instrumental thus far in raising over US$25M in venture capital to develop novel low capital expenditure infrastructure for the supply of hydrogen for aviation and other modes of transportation. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Universal Hydrogen and Indigo Insurance (Bahamas) Ltd.
Dr. Clarke was co-chair of the National Academies Committee that developed the US National Agenda for Autonomy Research related to Civil Aviation and has chaired or served on advisory and technical committees chartered by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), European Union (EU), FAA, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), NASA, US National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM), US Army, and US DOT. He is a Fellow of the AIAA and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and is a member of the Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (AGIFORS), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and Sigma Xi.
